Bear Characteristics

Bears possess dexterous lips and an elongated, agile tongue, aiding them in consuming small food sources like blueberries and ants.

Bears can remember and return to a location even after being captured and relocated over 200 kilometres away.

During winter hibernation, bears might occasionally awaken and explore their surroundings for brief periods.

At birth, bears are tiny, weighing just over 225 grams (0.225 kg), contrasting their mother's average weight of 70 kg.

Despite their clumsy appearance, bears can reach up to 55 km/hour speeds.

Characterized by their bulky build and thick skin, bears typically measure around 150 cm in length with a shoulder height ranging from 100 cm to 120 cm. An adult black bear features a moderately sized head, round ears, small eyes, and an inconspicuous short tail.

Bears have feet with five curved claws, which are used for digging and tearing out stumps, roots, and old logs to search for their food.
