Course Assessment
Testing conducted throughout this Defensive Driving Online Course is designed to reinforce the information presented. A passing mark of 80% must be achieved to receive a certificate of completion. Participants are able to repeat the course twice if the 80% pass mark is not achieved.

General Tips:
A good defensive driver will:
- Maintain adequate distance around the vehicle and is aware of what’s in the blind spot
- Keep eyes scanning for traffic nearby and down the road.
- Frequently checking mirrors for other vehicle positions
- Be aware of possible danger in advance in case prevention action is required
- Be ready to take corrective action due to the errors of other drivers
- Give up the right of way if danger is avoided
- Adjust driving behavior according to roads conditions, maintain an appropriate speed and take extra care.
- Always wear a seatbelt
- Always show courtesy to all road users
- Never drink alcohol, use drugs or be impaired while driving
- Always obey the speed limits
- Never take risks or make sudden lane changes causing an unsafe and dangerous situation
- Always keep a safe distance between your vehicle and the one ahead
- Avoid distractions associated with electronic devices such as phones and GPS
- Never text and drive. Put the phone away for the trip so it is out of sight, out of reach and out of mind
- Check traffic in all directions before entering an intersection
