The Hours of Service Online Course takes approximately 4 hours to complete.
Testing
Participants in the Hours of Service Canada Regulations Online Safety Course will be assessed by a test after viewing the course material on Hours of service rules Canada. Participants must achieve a mark of 80% or higher to earn their certificate of completion. Those that do not reach the required mark will be allowed to repeat the Hours of Service Canada Online Training course two more additional times. Supplemental materials required for completing this course can be accessed online.
Certificate of Completion
Participants who successfully pass the Hours of Service Online Course will earn a certificate of completion which they can print out or download for their records.
What Should I Know About Safely Operating A Commercial Vehicle?
- A driver must have 10 consecutive hours off-duty in a day.
- An operator must designate a cycle for each of their drivers to follow. There are only two cycles available, a seven day cycle or a fourteen day cycle
- A Driver is not required to keep a daily log if they are:
- driving the vehicle only within a radius of 160 kilometres of the days starting location
- returning to the same location from which they started
- working for only one operator that day
